Antoine Griezmann has revealed he almost joined Tottenham in the summer of 2014.
The French forward has suggested Spurs saw him as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale, who had been sold to Real Madrid the previous summer.
Griezmann also claims Barcelona wanted him, but he chose to join Atletico Madrid. The 26-year-old has been repeatedly linked a move to England over the last couple of years, but not to Tottenham.
“Although I might be missing out on titles,” writes Griezmann, “I have everything here to be happy, but that does not mean to say I won’t go one day. I haven’t made that decision. It all depends on various factors.
“I have nothing against England, except for the weather. Manchester United is a possibility.” (Quotes via The Mirror.)
I’m sure Spurs would still love to have Griezmann, but any hopes of signing him are unrealistic given the wages he is likely to demand.
