It has been a very enjoyable week for Tottenham fans. A disappointing draw with West Brom at Wembley was followed by defeat at Leicester on Tuesday night – it’s safe to say the supporters weren’t happy.

To make matters worse, players who aren’t currently with the club seem to enjoying themselves elsewhere. Vincent Janssen, who is spending the season out on loan, scored a fine individual goal in Fenerbahce’s 6-0 demolition of Demirspor in the Turkish Cup on Wednesday.

On a personal level, I’m happy for Janssen. But I can’t help but think the footballing gods are mocking Spurs. What did we do wrong?

  1. I rate Lloris and think despite the occasional error, like every keeper has in them, he’s still top draw. The issue, as always is the lack of depth, we don’t have the players to replace Kane, Alli or Eriksen if they are tired or out of form, they have no pressure, no threat of being dropped.
We need a new forward, admit our mistake and sign Mousa Dembele from Celtic, Wilfred Zaha from palace and Richarlison from Watford, plus Ross Barkley and Ryan Sessegon to replace Rose and Sissoko and we’ll have depth at last and options. Every top team has to leave out a different top class international from there squad each week, we don’t, as the squad is too light, especially for all the competitions we play. Look at the injuries we always suffer and the dip we have when player are out – for instance Toby and Wanyama are several missed atm but even though they missed it’s the attack that look really tired
