Tottenham are interested in signing FC Lorient midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, according to Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old, who is currently playing in the French second division, is also being tracked by Manchester City.

According to Sky, Guendouzi broke into Lorient’s first team while they were in Ligue 1 last season, making eight appearances.

The teenager has “established himself firmly” in the Lorient team this season. He is also a France Under-20 international.

Reports last week suggested Spurs are targeting a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele. Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has been mentioned, but he is expected to stay in La Liga.

  1. Our Defensive midfield needs more beefing up. There is no dept. Our forward line is also weak without Harry Kane. Delli Alli is off form and Erikson turns up now and again.
