Mauricio Pochettino has insisted Tottenham would not be content with fourth place in the Premier League this season.

In his pre-Burnley press conference, the Spurs manager was asked if he would settle for fourth place this term, to which he simply answered: “No.”

One journalist followed up by asking if he wants to be higher than fourth.

Pochettino replied: “Yes. Of course. I am not a comfortable person. I love to take a risk. I am here because I love to take a risk. I feel I am a winner.

“Sometimes the winners lose and they need to lose to feel the pain and of course I never resign a result to play. Never.” (Quotes via Football.London.)

Tottenham currently sit in seventh place behind all of their top four rivals and Saturday’s opponents Burnley.

Liverpool could go six points clear of Spurs in fourth if they beat Arsenal on Friday night, so a result for Pochettino’s side at Burnley is a must.
