Eric Dier has emphasised Christian Eriksen’s importance after the Dane missed Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Southampton through illness.
Spurs struggled to create chances at St Mary’s, and Eriksen’s absence was frustratingly evident throughout.
“Christian is a fantastic player. We have a great squad but obviously there are not many players like Christian,” Dier told Sky Sports.
“Christian plays an important role in the team. He is one of the links between phases of play and is key in that regard. He can create chances and score goals.”
Tottenham could do with signing somebody to provide cover and competition for Eriksen, but it doesn’t look like that will happen this month.
