Tottenham are “in the box seat” to sign Bordeaux winger Malcom, according to Sky Sports.

The 20-year-old Brazilian has also been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal, but Spurs have emerged as favourites to get him.

However, Bordeaux have confirmed Malcom won’t be leaving the Ligue 1 club this month.

Sky Sports claim Mauricio Pochettino is “prepared to buy him now and loan him back to Bordeaux for the rest of the season.”

Malcom’s current employers are believed to value him at around £40 million.

Should Tottenham make their move this month? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Yes. Buy him and loan back to Bordeaux as per Poyet request…on this basis Gus will give us easier ride for the deal. However we do need an extra hand by getting L.Maura from PSG. Also, get pre-contract agr for Sassegnon, Maddison, Wilmott…future quality. Something tells me we need a like for like Eriksen cover.

    • Sergio, your comments are spot on. The BIG problem is Levy. To be a TOP club and playing in the champions league every year, we need to spend some money and buy quality, we just don’t seem to grasp this. Levy and co, do an awful lot of window shopping, but rarely buying quickly enough. The players you have mentioned, would fit into the team very easily and would gel, I think, very quickly. COYS

  2. I agree Maddison is a good player. Sessegnon very good. However we still need a striker a holding midfielder and a winger. Come on Mr Levy splash the cash or pull out that rabbit and give us that surprise which you always do.

  3. Good player, likely a decent signing. Not sure about pay £40m and then loan him back though. If we’re doing the deal now, then I’d like to see him arrive now. It would give us the chance to settle him in over the seasons back-end, get him used to training, familiar with his teammates, and familiar with the premier league. Then, he will have a full pre-season and be ready to hit the ground running at the start of next season.

  4. Can we please sign him. He has had some bangers this season and would be a great back-up or even replacement to Dele Alli who has not been in good form.
