Christian Eriksen was rightly named man of the match for his terrific display in Tottenham’s 2-0 in over Manchester United at Wembley.

The Dane scored after just ten seconds and was generally brilliant throughout.

But there was an unsung hero in the Spurs ranks on Wednesday night: Mousa Dembele.

The 30-year-old was utterly dominant in midfield, getting the better of Paul Pogba to the point that the Frenchman had to be substituted midway through the second half.

Dembele has struggled with injury and fitness issues for the last couple of years, but he is still majestic on his day.

You can watch his highlights from the game below.

    • Totally agree, the only issue is we need a top notch replacement for when he’s injured and then it becomes painful to watch as Mousa eventually slows down and is replaced permanently.
If he didn’t have so many injuries it wouldn’t even be a topic, he’d be staying and we’d have one of the best midfielders in the world running the show for us!

  1. He is an absolute rock ! Making opponent offensive to defensive ! Wish he takes risk shooting more on the run ..we will create wonder goals ..

  2. The only thing I don’t agree with: Mousa is hardly “an unsung hero” when his name routinely gets sung more than any other player in the team.
