Tottenham are considering a bid for Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus, according to reports.
Reus’ contract expires at the end of next season – the Mirror and the Mail believe he is stalling over a new deal.
That could open the door for Spurs to make a move, although Liverpool are also believed to be interested in the Germany international.
In six seasons at Dortmund, Reus has scored 91 goals in 193 appearances in all competitions.
The 28-year-old has only played four times this term, scoring twice, having only recent returned from his latest long-term injury.
His injuries will obviously be a concern for Tottenham, but his contract situation means Reus could be signed on the cheap, making the transfer less of a risk.
The Bundesliga title has eluded Reus during his time at Dortmund. He has, however, been named in the Bunesliga Team of the Season on five occasions.
Reus would provide excellent competition and cover in the attacking positions for Spurs. If not for injuries, I think he would be playing for either Barcelona or Real Madrid by now.
