Tottenham are interested in signing Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to the Sun, but Liverpool lead the race for the Ivorian.
Seri was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona last summer but a deal failed to materialise.
Nice apparently value the 26-year-old at £35 million, but with reports claiming Barcelona refused to meet Nice’s valuation of the player, there’s a possibility he will be even more expensive.
The Sun believes Liverpool are now favourites to sign Seri. He will be almost guaranteed first-team football at Anfield if Emre Can makes his expected move to Juventus.
Spurs are said to be on the lookout for long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele, a role Seri could certainly fill.
However, he may find it difficult to immediately break into Tottenham’s midfield providing Dembele sticks around for at least another season, which could work against Spurs in the battle for Seri.
Manchester United and Arsenal are also named as potential destinations for the midfielder.
All of the clubs mentioned could probably offer Seri a better salary, so Tottenham would likely have to break the bank to land the Ligue 1 star.
