Tottenham are interested in signing Fenerbahce youngster Omer Beyaz, according to reports in Turkey.
The 15-year-old is understandably yet to feature for Fenerbahce’s first team.
But such has been the quality of his performances for their Under-17s side, Beyaz is apparently attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal.
And according to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Spurs have now joined the race to sign the teenage sensation.
A midfielder by trade, Beyaz is believed to have put in a number of impressive displays for Turkey’s Under-15s side.
Because of his age, it’s unclear where exactly his best position is or will turn out to be.
If Tottenham are genuinely keen on the young midfielder, perhaps he is seen as a potential long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele.
That is reportedly a role Spurs are attempting to fill, but there’s a good chance the club is looking at readymade candidates rather than future hopefuls.
Mauricio Pochettino has a decent track record when it comes to developing young talent, which often means promising youth prospects are linked with Tottenham.
I’d be sceptical about this one until a few more reputable sources pick up on the story.
