Tottenham are considering a move for Jonny Evans, who will cost just £3m if West Bromwich Albion are relegated.

That’s according to the Telegraph, who claim Evans is set to leave the Baggies at the end of a season likely to result in relegation to the Championship.

The Baggies are currently ten points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League, and last weekend’s defeat at Bournemouth saw them move closer to the drop.

West Brom captain Evans, 30, has a £3m release clause that can be triggered if his side go down.

And Spurs are apparently among the clubs interested in making a move for the Northern Ireland international.

The Telegraph believe Tottenham will face competition from Arsenal, but Manchester City are no longer interested.

Spurs see Evans as a potential replacement for Toby Alderweireld, who could be sold this summer after talks with the club over a new contract broke down.

Most Tottenham fans would prefer to see Alderweireld stay, but Evans would be a decent short-term replacement while promising teenager Juan Foyth continues his development.
