Tottenham are interested in signing Werder Bremen midfielder Thomas Delaney, according to reports in Germany.

The Denmark international has made 26 appearances in the Bundesliga so far this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

Delaney joined Werder Bremen from FC Copenhagen in 2017 after making over 200 appearances for the Danish club.

German outlet Bild claims the 26-year-old’s dream is to the play in the Premier League and that Spurs are interested in buying him this summer.

The report suggests Tottenham would have to pay at least €15 million (£13.18m) for Delaney.

It is believed Bremen must sell players before bringing in new recruits this summer having already spent a large percentage of their budget.

Spurs could take advantage of the German club’s situation by signing Delaney for a considerably cheap price by the modern market’s standards.

Reputable publications in the UK are yet to pick up on the story, so it’s likely just a rumour for now.

But Tottenham are apparently on the lookout for a long-term Mousa Dembele replacement – perhaps Delaney could fill that role.
