Watford may be forced to sell alleged Tottenham targets Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucoure this summer, according to the Mirror.
Both players have been linked with a move to Spurs in recent months – Richarlison is also believed to be a Chelsea target, while Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keen on Doucoure.
The Mirror claims Watford may have to consider selling one of those players this season to stay in the black, despite announcing a £4 million profit for the 2016-17 financial year.
Richarlison, 20, started the season brilliantly for the Hornets. And despite a dip in form over recent months, he is still highly regarded by a number of top clubs.
Doucoure has arguably been Watford’s most consistent player this season – the Mirror believes he is valued at around £40 million, which means Tottenham would have to break their transfer record to get him.
Spurs are apparently on the lookout for a long-term Mousa Dembele replacment. Doucoure certainly fits the criteria, but there should be questions marks over his ability to fill the role.
Richarlison would provide cover and competition in the attacking areas, although he might struggle to break into the team following the January signing of Lucas Moura.
