Tottenham remain interested in signing Norwich City playmaker James Maddison this summer, according to the Mirror.
Maddison has emerged as one of the brightest talents in the Championship this season despite the fact Norwich look set for a disappointing mid-table finish.
The Mirror claims “cash-strapped” Norwich may be forced to sell Maddison and other star players at the end of the campaign in a bid to raise funds for the summer transfer window.
City had previously slapped a £30 million price tag on Maddison – Liverpool are also said to be interested.
The 21-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen where he impressed to the point Norwich recalled him.
He has been a regular for the Canaries ever since, putting in a number of fine performances in the second tier of English football.
Spurs might be in need of a deputy for Christian Eriksen this summer. Mauricio Pochettino’s side tend to lack creativity when the Dane isn’t in the team.
Maddison could potentially fill that role. He may also be attracted by the prospect of playing under Pochettino, who has an impressive track record with developing young English talent.
As much as i would love Maddison to spend another year with us at NCFC i fully expect the club to sell him this summer , and i would hope he would go to either THFC or LFC to fullfill his potential.
