Ajax have identified two potential replacements for Tottenham target Matthijs De Ligt, according to football.london.

De Ligt, 18, has been a sensation since breaking into Ajax first-team at the age of 16 – he is already a full Netherlands international.

Earlier this month, reports suggested Spurs are eying a £50 million summer move for the teenager, who has also been linked with Barcelona and Arsenal.

Now, football.london claim Ajax are looking into possible replacements for De Ligt, suggesting the centre-back will almost certainly leave Holland at the end of the season.

Those potential replacements are believed to be South American duo Lisandro Magallan and Edson Alvarez.

If true, the news will certainly comes as a boost to Tottenham. The club may have to replace Toby Alderweireld this summer, and De Ligt would be ideal.

Alderweireld is in the midst of a contract dipute with Spurs having turned down an offer of a new deal earlier this year.

Tottenham are reportedly set to offer new contracts to a number of key players, but it’s unclear whether they are willing to stump up the cash to tie Alderweireld down.
