It’s been a difficult few months for Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks.
The 22-year-old broke into Mauricio Pochettino’s first team plans last season, scoring his first goal for Spurs in a 2-2 draw with West Ham at White Hart Lane.
Following an impressive if sporadic breakthrough campaign, Winks emerged as a genuine contender to start ahead of Mousa Dembele in Tottenham’s midfield earlier this term.
Impressive displays against Real Madrid in the Champions League earned him an England call-up, but a recurring ankle injury has hindered his progress in recent months.
Winks is current undergoing rehabilitation in Qatar, and it seems likely he will miss the remainder of the season.
He provided an update on his progress via the Twitter account of the Sports Medicine Hospital he is staying with.
