Tottenham Mousa Dembele is an injury doubt to face West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday, according to the Express.
Spurs travel to the Hawthorns for their final away game of the season aiming to strengthen their hold on fourth place in the table.
Chelsea and Liverpool face each other on Sunday, the result of which could aid Tottenham’s push for Champions League qualification.
West Brom will be relegated to the Championship if they fail to win, so the hosts will be more than up for Saturday’s contest.
And their task might be made easier by Dembele’s absence.
The Belgian limped off during Spurs’ 2-0 league win over Watford on Monday after twisting his ankle.
After the game Mauricio Pochetinno said Dembele will be assessed, but an official update isn’t expected until Friday.
For now, the Express claims the midfielder is a doubt for Saturday’s game, suggesting Dembele won’t recover in time.
Danny Rose is also expected to miss out, but Kieran Trippier has apparently recovered from a knock he picked up against Watford.
I expect Victor Wanyama will come straight into the side for Dembele if the Belgian doesn’t make it.
Unless they’re real losers, Spurs are aiming for 3rd (at least), not “strengthening at fourth”.
To right.
