Tottenham are considering a £65 million double swoop for Swansea City centre-back Alfie Mawson and Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand, according to the Express.

Mauricio Pochettino may be forced to replace Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose at the end of the season, both of whom are expected to leave Spurs this summer.

Alderweireld reportedly turned down a new deal earlier this year and has rarely been used by Pochettino since returning from a long-term hamstring injury.

Likewise, Rose has lost his place in the side to Ben Davies despite fully recovering from the knee injury that saw him spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The Express believes Pochettino is keen on Mawson, who is valued at £40m by Swansea and is also attracting interest from Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Southampton are thought to value Bertrand at £25 million – they will be under extra pressure to sell the 28-year-old if they are relegated to the Championship.

Tottenham have also been strongly linked with youngsters Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham and Matthijs de Ligt.

While those two have the potential to become world-class players in the future, Mawson and Bertrand are readymade for the Premier League.

It will be interesting to see which road Spurs go down in terms of recruitment this summer.
