Tottenham are interested in signing Sassuolo winger Matteo Politano this summer, according to reports in Italy.
The 24-year-old has scored ten goals and provided five assists in Serie A so far this season.
And according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Politano is attracting the interest of Spurs.
However, the Londoners will potentially face competition for his signature from a number of Italian clubs – including Inter Milan and Napoli – as well as Bayer Leverkusen and Zenit Saint Petersburg.
Politano has represented Italy at Under-19, U-20 and U-21 level but is yet to receive a call up to the senior national side.
Tottenham are believed to be in the market for a new attacker this summer, although Mauricio Pochettino will likely be targeting a forward who can play through the middle.
Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen are expected to leave the club, which will leave a slot in the squad for a new centre forward.
The January signing of Lucas Moura could mean Spurs are already at capacity when it comes to wingers – the Brazilian has barely featured since arriving from PSG.
