Tottenham are interested in signing Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic, according to reports in Italy.
FC Inter News claims Spurs have informed the Croatian’s agent they are keen to take him to north London this summer.
However, the report claims Inter have made it clear Perisic is not for sale.
The 29-year-old came close to joining Manchester United last summer but a deal failed to materialise.
He has scored 11 goals and provided nine assists in Serie this season as Inter qualified for next season’s Champions League.
Tottenham might have had a better chance of luring Perisic if Inter had failed to secure a top four finish.
If Spurs’ interest is genuine, perhaps they are looking at alternatives to Anthony Martial.
Reports in the last few days have suggested Martial, 22, is one of Tottenham’s top transfer targets this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino apparently wants to recruit a versatile attacker who can provide cover and competition for Harry Kane while also playing out wide.
Both Perisic and Martial could fill that role, but Martial’s age makes him the more likely candidate.
