Six of Tottenham’s key players are set to follow Mauricio Pochettino’s lead by signing new contracts, according to the London Evening Standard.

Pochettino agreed terms on a new five-year deal earlier this week, reportedly making him the third highest paid manager in the Premier League behind Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho.

Now, the Standard claims six first team players will commit to new contracts in the near future.

Those players are believed to be Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Hugo Lloris and Heung-Min Son.

Confirmation of those contract extensions is expected to come prior to the club’s move to their new White Hart Lane-based stadium.

Spurs are set to lose the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele this summer, so the fact they are tying down other key players will come as welcome news to the supporters.

Pochettino is thought to have been promised increased transfer funds this summer – the current Tottenham squad could look very different by the beginning of next season.

  1. I’ve been saying this for ages, his kicking is very poor he generally goes to ground and gets beaten over his head. I thought gazzanigga would get more game time??

  2. I totally agree and have been saying so for a time, although he is a good shot stopper, he is basically too small to be a great modern day keeper.
    Move him on PLEASE
    COYS

  3. This is a quote from Real Madrid’s old goalkeeper Casillas: People always remember all the mistakes you make put never remember all the good that you have done for them.
I think you Spurs fan should be greatful the fact that you still have Hugo Lloris but you people rather be criticizing from all his mistakes. It I true that he had a poor season but if it wasn’t for him in the Champions League against Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Apoel Nicosia, and Juventus what could of happened?
Specifically against Real Madrid where most of Real Madrid’s shots and headers were saved by him. It wasn’t only Harry Kane, Eriksen, and Dele Alli that helped Spurs beat Real Madrid Hugo Lloris put a lot of effort into. If Spurs can be in the top three teams in England today it because of not only Harry but Lloris is part of it too. You people don’t seem to realize during the season tat the defense showed how poor they can be this season.
Remember this, you can be one of the greatest goalkeepers that can exist but if your defense is showing poor results you will get scored on no matter what. It’s true Sanchez had a nice but who made the mistake faces Juventus on the right side of the defense that caused us a goal from Paulo Dybala it was Sanchez plus Trippier. Once again against Liverpool who saved the Coutinho shot that was going into the 90 degrees angle it was Lloris that game finished 4-1. To end this, the second game against Liverpool that finished 2-2. Salah’s second goal was the defense’s fault you can’t tell me that Been Davies and Jan Vertonghen let Salah pass through the defense inside the box that easily and now people are going to criticize Lloris. People should be criticizing the bad mistakes the defense be making not Hugo Lloris because he has gave his soul out for the team.

  4. By the way I am a Tottenham fan too and I think at 75% he deserves the new contract from Daniel Levy not because he’s the captain but because he is a hard working goalkeeper. I am nineteen and I play that same position in soccer goalie. If you people think it’s easy have a try and see how much criticism you get.

  5. Yeah ok Lloris didnt do too well he was still there when we needed him and i see coments about our defence and honestly both Sancez and Davies are still very young and will improve over the years Sancez proved great quaility for his age this season a lot of older players dont perform as good as him so i dont uderstand the bad coments about him he is really good

  6. Also why are you blaming Hugo for everything i am a golakeeper in real life and i understand what is it like to not have an amazing defence and not being able to save everything he is still an amazing goalkeeper im my opinion

  7. Yes I agree Hugo did put a good share. Although this season was as good as previously but he did his best. The defence were poor at times and Hugo made some mistakes too. But by and large, he deserve a pay rise. Let’s look forward to a better season after the World Cup. Pochettino signing a new deal is an indication of better things to come. COYS !!!
