Tottenham’s £30 million valuation of Mousa Dembele is putting off the Italian sides interested in signing the midfielder, according to the London Evening Standard.

Dembele has just a year left on his current contract and isn’t expected to sign a new deal with Spurs.

The Belgian has put a decision on his future on hold until after the World Cup, but he is expected to leave Tottenham this summer.

The Standard claims Juventus, Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan have all shown an interest in Dembele, who currently earns around £80,000 a week at Spurs.

However, the Londoners have slapped a £30 million price tag on the 30-year-old – a hefty fee for an ageing player entering the final year of his contract.

Tottenham may have to lower their asking price if they want to avoid losing Dembele for free in the summer of 2019.

Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be pursuing another central midfielder regardless of Dembele’s future, although reported target Bryan Cristante is set to sign for AS Roma.

  1. Where do you get this shit Steve?
Dembele is not a wantaway. He said earlier he wants to finish the world cup before he makes a decision.
I suspect it has as much to do with his condition as anything. After the World Cup; if he decides he wants to play in a little less rigorous league; Tottenham will help him find a spot and make a deal. If he feels like he wants to continue in the EPL ; he will probably sign an extension with Spurs. I have no sense that Dembele is a wantaway nor that Spurs are anxious to move him. I suspect that after World cup; the decision will be made, largely dependent upon what Dembele wants.

  2. Jan Vertongen dont say much, but when he does I listen. Last week he spoke about all the Tottenham team, and how happy he was to be with such a group of players. He’s never seen a squad that’s so happy playing together. He feels proud to be a member.
So Steve I dont know where you get your info from about all our wantaways!
I think I’ll take more notice of Jan.
