Manchester United are not willing to sell Anthony Martial to Tottenham this summer, according to the Independent.
Spurs were linked with Martial in the summer of 2015 before he left Monaco for United, where he has scored 36 goals in 136 appearances across all competitions.
The Frenchman has once again emerged as a potential target for Tottenham in recent weeks.
Chelsea are also said to be interested in the 22-year-old. However, the Independent claims United will not sell Martial to either London club as they would rather see him go abroad.
It is believed United don’t want to let Martial go at all, but Jose Mourinho is prepared to see the former Monaco striker depart.
Martial was left out of France’s World Cup squad by manager Didier Deschamps after scoring 11 goals for United in 2017/18.
Arguably, he needs a move to reignite his career. But at this stage it seems unlikely he will join Tottenham.
I’m not surprised they don’t sell him to a better club (Spurs)… If they don’t then, we just refuse to sell them any of our players.
I agree . They have taken key men from Tottenham time after time. Carrick, Berbatov, Sheringham, then they unsettled Rose and tried Alderwiereld. Why would we do business with them ever?
