Tottenham have begun discussions with Lyon over a deal for midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to reports in France.
Mousa Dembele has put talks over his Spurs future on hold until after the World Cup, but he is expected to leave England for either Italy or China in the coming weeks.
As a result, Tottenham will be in need of a new central midfielder – Ndombele is the latest name from a long list of potential targets.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, Spurs have entered talks with Lyon over a possible deal for the 21-year-old.
Ndombele spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Lyon from Amiens, but he is expected to make that move permanent for a fee in the region of £9 million this summer.
However, interest from the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea could see Lyon immediately sell the France Under-21 international for around £35m, making a huge profit in the process.
Ndombele has scored once and provided six assists in 47 appearances across all competitions for Lyon, but he is more of a defensive midfielder.
Is this what levy means by being brave? Another risky punt on a cheap French player – when will the little bald, weird one learn? This is not the sort of transfer business you’d expect of a CL club.
