Tottenham are interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario this summer, according to reports in Italy.

The 25-year-old, who came off the bench in Portugal’s 3-3 draw with Spain at the World Cup, spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United.

He scored two goals in 13 Premier League appearances for the Hammers, helping the Londoners remain in the top-flight.

Joao Mario is expected to leave Inter permanently this summer, and Italian outlet SempreInter claims Spurs could be interested in signing him.

Inter will apparently ask for between £28m and £31m for the midfielder, who Mauricio Pochettino is said to be a fan of.

Joao Mario is the third Inter player to be linked with Tottenham in recent days after midfielder Matias Vecino and defender Danilo D’Ambrosio.

The reason? Inter are apparently eager to sign Mousa Dembele, so the media is bound to tip a number of the Serie A club’s stars to join Spurs in exchange.

I’m not sure any of the players mentioned are good enough for Tottenham, but we’ll see if the club makes any moves.
