Tottenham have been regularly scouting French defender Junior Kingue, according to reports in France.
Kingue, 19, currently plays for Brazilian club Santos, who he joined from Atletico Paranense following an endorsement from Brazil legend Pele.
That’s according to a report form Sport Witness, which also claims Kingue has had trials with Manchester United, Manchester City, Ajax and others.
Sport Witness goes on to cite a report from French outlet FootMercato that reveals Spurs and Burnley have both been watching Kingue regularly.
It is believed the teenager has been impressing for Santos’ Under-23s side.
Clubs in France are said to be interested in signing Kingue this summer, so Tottenham will need to move quickly if they are truly keen.
Spurs will almost certainly be in need of a new centre-back this summer with Toby Alderweireld expected to leave the club after failing to agree terms on a new deal.
That said, the Londoners will probably go for a more established name that Kingue.
What’s more, Mauricio Pochettino is likely to give either Juan Foyth or Cameron Carter-Vickers a chance in the first-team before thinking about signing another young defender.
