Manchester United have quoted Tottenham “silly prices” to sign Anthony Martial, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Martial has reportedly emerged as one of Spurs’ top transfer targets as Mauricio Pochettino aims to add another attacker to his squad.

Is is believed the 22-year-old, who was left out of France’s World Cup squad following an inconsistent season with United, would be interested in joining Tottenham this summer.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, United aren’t willing to let Martial leave cheaply.

The report suggests United want “well in excess” of the fee they originally paid for Martial, which is believed to be around £56 million when additional payments and bonuses are taken into consideration.

Subsequently, Spurs will have to smash their transfer record if they want get a deal done, and with that in mind it’s unlikely Tottenham will be signing Martial this summer.

The Londoners have been linked with a move for Nice striker Alassane Plea as a cheaper alternative.

I expect there will plenty of other possible targets tipped to join Spurs in the coming weeks.
