Inter Milan CEO Alessandro Antonello has confirmed the Serie A giants are in talks with Tottenham over a deal for Mousa Dembele, according to reports in Italy.

Dembele has just one year left on his current contract and is expected to leave for either Italy or China this summer – Inter have been mooted as his most likely destination.

Earlier this week, reports emerged claiming Inter are readying a move for Dembele, who Spurs are said to value at around £26 million.

And now, according to Calcio Mercato, Inter chief Antonello has revealed talks are underaway over a potential deal.

“Talks are in place, but nothing is definite,” Antonello allegedly said.

Dembele is currently with the Belgium squad at the World Cup in Russia – it is believed he has put off any decision on his future until after the tournament.

The 30-year-old impressed for Belgium in the final group game victory over England, but there are doubts he can handle another season of high-intensity Premier League football.

Tottenham have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot as a potential replacement – he would be ideal.
