Eric Dier has been speaking after scoring the decisive penalty in England’s Round of 16 victory over Colombia at the World Cup.
The Tottenham midfielder stepped up and converted the final spot-kick to send England through to a quarter-final clash with Sweden.
During an interview, Dier was shown footage of fans celebrating his penalty.
The 24-year-old spoke of the pride the players feel when they are able to give the supporters such joyous moments.
He also noted that sometimes winning narrowly can be far more satisfying than winning comfortably.
