Barcelona have cooled their interest in Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen and have turned their attentions to Chelsea star Eden Hazard, according to reports in Spain.

Eriksen was heavily linked with Barcelona last summer after the La Liga giants failed to secure a deal for then-Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho eventually joined Barcelona in the January transfer window, but the Spanish champions are still regularly linked with a move for Eriksen.

However, according to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona are no prioritising a move for Hazard.

The report claims Barcelona believe Hazard is currently operating at a higher level then Eriksen, and a move for the Belgian would also prevent Real Madrid getting there first.

Madrid are expected to make a move for Hazard as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Juventus earlier this week.

Hazard is yet to sign a new contract with Chelsea – his current deal expires in the summer of 2020.

Eriksen has been tipped to follow the lead of Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Kane by signing a new contract with Spurs, although there is no indication an agreement is imminent.
