Kieran Trippier scored a brilliant free-kick in England’s World Cup semi-final Croatia, but his tournament ended in tears as he left the field with an injury and the Three Lions crashed out.
The Tottenham defender appeared to hurt his groin and had to be helped off the pitch.
Gareth Southgate revealed Trippier’s issue had something to do with “a nerve tied into cramp,” easing fears over a serious groin strain but failing to give Spurs fans any real assurances.
However, video footage of England’s final training session ahead Saturday’s third place play-off against Belgium provided positive news.
