Tottenham youngster Reo Griffiths has already left the club after deciding to cancel his own contract, according to football.london.
Griffiths, 18, scored 33 goals for Spurs’ Under-18s side last season and signed a new scholarship deal in June, ending speculation about his future – he had been linked with RB Leipzig and Celtic.
But football.london claims Griffiths has now cancelled that deal and will join another club for the 2018/19 season.
Over the weekend, Sky Sports reported that the teenage striker is in advanced talks to join Ligue 1 side Lyon.
A move abroad would be the latest in a string of high-profile English youngsters joining foreign clubs – Keanan Bennetts left Tottenham to join Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this year.
Had he stuck around, Griffiths may have been given the opportunity to provide cover for Harry Kane in the first team.
Spurs will certainly need another striker if Fernando Llorente leaves – the Spaniard has been linked with a return to Spain or Italy.
Vincent Janssen is also expected to depart and is said to be edging closer to joining Fenerbahce on loan for another season.
