Tottenham are the most likely club to make a late move for Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure before the transfer deadline, according to the Watford Observer.
Spurs are yet to make a signing this summer with the window set to close on August 9th, two days before their Premier League opener against Newcastle United.
The Londoners are reportedly closing in on a deal for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, but they are also believed to be keen on a player who can sit deeper in midfield, especially if Mousa Dembele departs.
And the Watford Observer claims Tottenham could make a late move for Doucoure, who shone for the Hornets last season.
However, the likes of Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal have all apparently been put off by Watford’s £45 million valuation of the 25-year-old.
Dembele, meanwhile, appears to be no closer to an exit than he was a few weeks ago, when he was being heavily linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan.
Right now, there is a good chance Dembele will end up staying at Tottenham beyond the summer, which would make an immediate swoop for Doucoure unnecessary.
