Tottenham have allowed Georges-Kevin N’Koudou to join Mainz on a season-long loan, according to Sky Sports.

N’Koudou joined Tottenham from Marseille in the summer of 2016 but has struggled to break into Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans.

He has made just nine Premier League appearances for Spurs and spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley, where he played just eight times.

The 23-year-old failed to secure a move to another English club during the Premier League’s transfer window, but a move abroad appears to be on the cards.

After being linked with a move to St Etienne – something that was eventually ruled out, according to reports – N’Koudou is now on his way to Germany.

That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim Tottenham have allowed the winger to join German club Mainz on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season.

N’Koudou scored Spurs’ winning goal in a pre-season friendly against AC Milan earlier this month but clearly didn’t do enough earn a spot in the first-team squad this term.

It is unclear whether a permanent deal has been agreed for when the loan ends.

  1. So you reckon N’Koudou is a “Tottenham star”? You’re having a laugh! Your headline should read “Tottenham FLOP” instead
