Christian Eriksen was at his creative best during Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United on the opening day of the new Premier League season.
Despite failing to grab a goal or provide an assist, the Dane dictated the tempo of the game and gave Spurs control for long spells.
But perhaps his best moment came in the first half when he controlled a dropping ball with a ridiculous level of composure.
There were shades of Dimitar Berbatov to Eriksen’s touch – have a look below.

Eriksen has also been nominated for the UEFA Goal of the Season award – watch his nominated strike here.
Still didnt see it. Nothing stunning anyway.
Most premier league players should be able to control a high ball like that these days.
Wow,
I think most prem players couldn’t trap a bag of sand.
I’m first and foremost a football fan, who loves NUFC, and that right there was one of the best bits during the whole match.
Eriksen s a proper footballer who takes the game to the opposite team every game. a joy to watch
