Tottenham are still open to selling Danny Rose before the European transfer window closes on August 31st, according to the London Evening Standard.

However, the Standard believes Toby Alderweireld is expected to stay in north London.

Rose’s Spurs future has been uncertain ever since he gave a controversial interview last August in which he criticised the club’s wage structure and ambition in the transfer market.

Manchester United and Everton were both linked with a move for the defender, but injuries and dips in form saw no potential English suitors move for him before the Premier League’s August 9th transfer deadline.

German club Schalke has also been mooted as a possible destination for Rose, and the Standard claims a move abroad is still a possibility before the end of the month.

Rose was on the bench for Saturday’s 3-1 win over Fulham at Wembley after missing out altogether against Newcastle United on the opening weekend.

Alderweireld, meanwhile, was a surprise inclusion in the starting line-up against Fulham, and it now seems likely he will stay at Tottenham for the remainder of the season.

Whether the Belgian is now willing to sign a new contract with the club remains a mystery.

  1. Please don’t sell Danny Rose, Toby or Dembele, they are all class acts. If Spurs want to sell players, look at Llorente, Sissoko and Janssen.

  2. Rose and Toby will play a big part for Spurs this season.

Llorente is poor. We need a good back up striker. Do we have any youth??

I’d of liked to see Janssen play if it wasn’t for injury. He was very hard working

  3. I think because they have won 3 Games they think they can just turn up and get the points what was Kane doing was he playing Dembele gave the ball away that did not help poor all round
