Christian Eriksen has said Tottenham should have been “calmer” in front of goal and taken their chances before Watford staged a surprise comeback at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

Spurs took the lead early in the second half when Lucas Moura’s cross cannoned off Abdoulaye Doucoure and past Ben Foster.

But Watford scored two goals in seven minutes through Troy Deeney and Craig Cathcart to continue their perfect start and end Tottenham’s 100% record.

After the game, Christian Eriksen criticised his team’s inability to wrap up the game earlier. Watch his interview below.

  1. We were a disgrace from Davies a total joke , Eriksen never turned up AWOL , Harry Kane another joke AWOL , Lorente another joke regardless of the limited time he had , Dembele another joke , Deli the biggest joke of all , Rose another joke regardless the limited time he got , the central defence was decent Murca tried very hard never stopped running , how on earth did we beat Man Utd , there was no fight no determination , never wanted to challenge for the top position , Maurico Poshettino changed nothing except for the substitutes , the whole team were a total disaster this great Deli was a second division player and has been for a long long time , Eriksen never tried a poor midfielder indeed a great chance to go joint 1st scunndered .

  2. Totally agree, no fight or desire to win the game against a strong physical side with not much else to offer.
Most of our so called star players went missing for large parts of the game and it was the same old fragile Spurs of years gone past where they flattered to deceive!
If we play like that against Liverpool next match we will be well beaten by 3 or 4 goals!
We are nowhere near to being Championship contenders with Man City and Liverpool this season. Should have freshened up the squad during the transfer window – but there again all time and effort appears to have gone into this new stadium of ours and not the team!
Next year we could well be in this great new stadium with just an average team playing Europa League football at best and trying to find a new Manager, who has left to look after a top European team!!!
Now there is a reality check Mr Levy to ponder!
