Tottenham are tracking Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell, according to the Telegraph.
Chilwell received his first England call-up this week, replacing Luke Shaw in the Three Lions squad following the Manchester United left-back’s concussion.
Coincidentally, Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Shaw in recent days – the former Southampton defender is out of contract next summer.
But Chilwell is perhaps more of a realistic target, and the Telegraph believes Spurs have been monitoring him for some time.
However, the report suggests Tottenham aren’t planning a January move for the 21-year-old – the Londoners are apparently more likely to wait until next summer to make an offer.
Chilwell’s current Leicester contract expires in the summer of 2021, so the Foxes will probably set his asking price reasonably high.
Any move for Chilwell – or Shaw – could depend on Danny Rose’s future, which is still up in the air.
Meanwhile, the Telegraph’s report also claims Spurs are preparing a January move for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who they have been heavily linked with over the last week or so.
Lol…not a prayer of getting Ben to leave the KP.
New contract on the way…academy product, loves the club.
Exciting times at the KP.
Best young side we have ever seen at Leicester being developed.
