Tottenham travel to Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Saturday aiming to build on their good form since losing three games in a row in all competitions.
The Londoners won at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend and edged past Watford on penalties in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
Mauricio Pochettino picked two very different line-ups for those games, and with that in mind the Argentinian has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection for Huddersfield.
Hugo Lloris is being assessed on Friday but if he isn’t ready, Paulo Gazzaniga will keep his place between the sticks.
Toby Alderweireld is likely to be the only defender to retain his spot in the back line, while Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier should return in midfield.
The biggest conundrum is in the attacking positions. Pochettino must leave out either Erik Lamela, Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son or Lucas Moura.
We think it could be Lucas, despite the fact he has emerged as a fan favourite this term. He was substituted in the 70th minute against Watford after a quiet evening – he also hasn’t scored since the Manchester United game last month.
Erik Lamela is playing too well to be dropped, while Alli and Son appear to be back to full fitness. Christian Eriksen is out with an abdomen injury.
Here’s our predicted XI to face Huddersfield – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments.
Based on the available players I agree 100% with the choice above.
Moura is very inconsistent, like Alli. Neither player deserves to be in the team.
As the squad is lacking quality, Alli will have to be in the team unfortunately. Such a frustrating player to watch.
I am more worried about Trippier yes he can take a good free kick and cross the ball well but his main job is to defend and I don’t think he is that good.what do others think?
