Tottenham have been linked with Benfica striker Luka Jovic, who scored five goals for loan club Eintracht Frankurt at the weekend.
Jovic, 20, became the youngest player to score five times in a Bundesliga game with a stunning performances in Frankfurt’s 7-1 victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The Serbian international has now found the net seven times in six appearances so far this term, just one goal fewer than the eight he managed in 22 Bundesliga matches last season.
Jovic’s two-year-loan will be over at the end of the current campaign, and Benfica are certain to be fielding calls if the youngster keeps up his form.
According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Spurs and Chelsea are among the clubs interested.
Tottenham are likely to sell Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen next summer, meaning they will probably move for a new striker to provide cover and competition for Harry Kane.
If his five-goal display is anything to go by, Jovic’s finishing ability is of a very high standard.
And that’s exactly what Spurs need – a player to provide goals and relieve the pressure on Kane.
