Mauricio Pochettino has told Real Madrid he is staying at Tottenham, according to the Sun.
The Spurs boss was mooted as a candidate to take over from Zinedine Zidane over the summer following the Frenchman’s surprise resignation.
Madrid ended up appointing Julen Lopetegui instead, but the former Spain boss was sacked following a disastrous start to the season.
Inevitably, Pochettino has been linked with the Madrid job again amid suggestions he has hit a ceiling at Tottenham.
But according to the Sun, Pochettino has told Madrid he has no intention of taking over at the Bernabeu despite the La Liga giants offering £15 million per year.
It is believed the Argentinian was put off by the uncertainty behind the scenes at Madrid, where managers never seem to last long.
Pochettino has a degree of stability at Spurs regardless of the ongoing new stadium situation.
Madrid’s interest in Pochettino isn’t likely to end here, and Tottenham may be forced to back their manager in the January transfer window or next summer to convince him to stay.
The 46-year-old signed a new five-year contract with Spurs in the summer.
All a load of made up bullshit. These so called journalist ITK are just a bunch of liars like the pipsqueak Duncan Castles, claiming to be a football expert ITK. That clown has been proven time and again to be a first class liar. Unfortunately the sheep will regurgitate the lies.
