Juan Foyth is the latest in a long line of Tottenham players to suffer an injury this season, according to reports in Argentina. Thankfully, it doesn’t sound like a bad one.

Foyth may have made his international debut for Argentina on Friday night against Mexico, but the youngster suffered a facial injury during a training session.

That’s according to Argentinian outlet TyC, as relayed by Spurs website Cartilage Free Captain. It is believed Foyth collided with Walter Kannemann and sustained a rather nasty gash down his left cheek, which required stitches.

Such an injury isn’t likely to keep Foyth out for very long. It’s possible he now won’t play a part for his country during the international break, but will probably be available for Tottenham’s clash with Chelsea next weekend.

That’s important considering the amount of injuries Tottenham players have suffered this season. Foyth played against Crystal Palace last weekend because of Davinson Sanchez’s hamstring injury.

If Sanchez still isn’t fit for Chelsea, Foyth may have to start again. Although Eric Dier will also be in contention to start at centre-back.
