Tottenham are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Amadou Haidara, according to Sky Sports.

Haidara has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring three goals and providing six assists from central midfield.

The 20-year-old has played in 12 of his side’s 14 league games so far this term. Salzburg already lead the Austrian top-flight by 12 points.

A native of Mali, Haidara has made six senior appearances for his country and, if reports are to be believed, he could soon find himself playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs have Haidara on a list of possible replacements for Mousa Dembele, who could leave the club either in January or at the end of the season.

Dembele’s contract expires next summer, so he will free to talk to foreign clubs in January.

Joining Haidara on the list of potential replacements is Watfod’s Abdoualye Doucoure and Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele.

Doucoure is obviously readymade for the Premier League, but Ndombele arguably has the highest ceiling of the three players mentioned.
