Tottenham’s players think Mauricio Pochettino will have a decision to make about his future at the end of the season amid interest from Real Madrid, according to the Guardian.
Pochettino was heavily linked with Real Madrid over the summer after Zinedine’s Zidane’s surprise resignation. They appointed Julen Lopetegui instead, but the former Spain boss has already been replaced by Santiago Solari.
The La Liga giants haven’t improved much under Solari, losing their final Champions League group game 3-0 against CSKA Moscow at the Bernabeu. As a result, Pochettino’s name is doing the rounds again.
And according the the Guardian, the Argentinian’s current players believe their manager will have to choose between staying at Spurs or moving to the Spanish capital next summer.
It is believed Pochettino’s stock has risen in Spain after Tottenham’s impressive performance in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Barcelona, a result that saw the Londoners qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
In the past, Pochettino has spoken of his intention to lead Spurs into their new stadium. The club’s fans will be hoping he wants to be in charge for at least one full season at the White Hart-Lane based arena.
I think Pochettino will be at Spurs for at least another four years. They have some great young players, with some investment they could win trophy’s.
