Tottenham are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig, according to the Mirror.
Puig made his first-team debut last season but has mostly featured for Barcelona’s B side this term, making 16 appearances in total.
He has played once for the senior team this season in the Copa del Rey, and it is believed the 19-year-old may be eager to move on.
According to the Mirror’s print edition on Sunday, as relayed by Sport, Spurs are keen on Puig.
However, Everton are hoping to steal a march on the Londoners my making a move for the youngster in January, possibly on loan.
The report claims the Toffees are confident they can move ahead of Tottenham in the line of clubs chasing Puig because of their previous dealings with Barcelona.
Andre Gomes – another reported Spurs target – is currently on loan at Goodison Park from the Catalan giants.
Tottenham are in need of a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele, who is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave for China or Italy in January.
