Tottenham travel to Tranmere Rovers for a third round FA Cup tie on Friday night, and Mauricio Pochettino has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.

There has been surprisingly little rotation over the festive period with some key players featuring from the start against Everton, Bournemouth, Wolves and Cardiff City.

With that in mind, Pochettino should rest the majority of his big hitters at Tranmere, although a couple of regulars might have to play.

Paulo Gazzaniga will come in for Hugo Lloris between the sticks and should be protected by a back four of Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth and Ben Davies, giving the likes of Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld a breather.

In midfield, Pochettino has the chance to give Oliver Skipp a start. The teenager is likely to come in for Harry Winks.

Moussa Sissoko seems to be fitter than most of teammates and so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him retain his place in the midfield three.

Dele Alli and Son Heung-min were substituted against Cardiff, suggesting they could start here. Alli will play a slightly deeper role to make room for Son, Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente in attack.

Here’s our predicted line-up to face Tranmere – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. If play Davies for 60 minutes then get Rose another run out.
    Alli same then play Winks.

We would have won the league in 16 and 17 had we bought wisely in January, easier said than done I know but I do think we are lacking at Left back cover , centre mid and another pacey forward.

    N’dombele
    Tierney
    Malcom !
