Tottenham are interested in singing Torino defender Nicolas N’Koulou, according to reports in Italy.

N’Koulou has made 19 appearances in Serie A so far this season, scoring two goals.

Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web claims Arsenal are keen on signing 28-year-old centre-back this month to bolster their squad in an attempt to win the Europa League.

The report suggests Spurs are also fond of N’Koulou.

Tottenham may be more appealing to the Cameroon captain as they can offer Champions League football.

However, N’Koulou would probably have a better chance of getting into Arsenal’s team because of the Gunners’ lack of depth at centre-back.

Spurs could face losing Toby Alderweireld next summer after the Belgian extended his contract by a year, activating a £25 million release clause in the process.

Juan Foyth continues to develop into a potential regular, meaning Mauricio Pochettino might opt against signing a new centre-back immediately.

N’Koulou’s age may also be a stumbling block, although it’s possible Tottenham will want to replace Alderweireld with another experienced defender.
