Mousa Dembele has flown to China to complete a transfer away from Tottenham, but there has been a late twist.
The midfielder will no longer join Beijing Guoan – he will instead join Guangzhou Evergrande.

That’s according to football journalist Kristof Terreur, who writes for Belgian outlet HLN and is always reliable when it comes to Belgian footballers playing in the Premier League.
Earlier on Monday, we relayed a report claiming Dembele has left England and, subsequently, has already played his last game for Spurs.
The 31-year-old limped off in Tottenham’s 3-2 victory at Wolves back in November – he hasn’t played since.
A fan favourite under Mauricio Pochettino’s management, Dembele will be missed regardless of his fitness issues over the last two or three seasons.
Spurs may be in need of a new central midfielder immediately with Dembele’s exit and Moussa Sissoko’s injury coming at a difficult time for the club.
Sissoko limped off in Sunday’s defeat to Manchester United with what looked like a groin problem, meaning Pochettino is now seriously short in midfield.
We desperately need to upgrade any new signings that are going to replace Dembele which won’t be easy. We can’t afford to buy inferior players, going backwards isn’t an option.
