Tottenham are interested in signing Club Brugge winger Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld, according to the Daily Mail.
Groeneveld has scored five goals and provided four assists across all competitions this season – including a goal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League – but has been out of action since October with an ankle injury.
The 21-year-old is said to be attracting a number of clubs, including Spurs, Liverpool and Everton. Meanwhile, AC Milan have apparently had a £9 million bid for Groeneveld turned down.
A full Netherlands international, Groeneveld can play either on the wing or as a left wing-back, which should appeal to Mauricio Pochettino, who is known to value versatility.
Danny Rose and Ben Davies are currently competing for the left-back slot at Tottenham, but Rose’s fitness has proved unreliable in recent months while Davies’ performances have been questionable this term.
Further forward, Spurs are well stocked in the wide attacking positions but more competition can only be a good thing.
Pochettino will probably be prioritising the recruitment of a central midfielder this month due to Mousa Dembele’s imminent exit and Moussa Sissoko’s injury.
