Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen is unlikely to sign a new contract amid interest from Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

Eriksen’s current deal expires at the end of next season and much has been written about his future in recent weeks.

Some reports have claimed Eriksen is stalling on a new contract, while others say Spurs are confident the Dane will commit his long-term future to the club soon.

During all of the talk, rumours of Real Madrid making a move for Eriksen next summer have been lingering in the background.

And according to Spanish outlet AS, Eriksen is a long way from agreeing terms on a new deal.

The report claims there is next to no chance the 26-year-old but will leave Tottenham this month, but it is believed it will be very difficult for the Londoners to persuade Eriksen to extend his contract.

Figures between £100 million and £225 million have been mooted for Eriksen – his value is likely to decrease the longer he stalls.

Spurs have been linked with Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir this week, but keeping Eriksen is surely the priority.

  1. Sorry but this is absolute rubbish. Every European and spanish football expert will tell you the days of Real breaking records on Galacticos are long gone. Real now deploy a youth policy that along with their stadium obligations will not allow them to drop more than 40-50milion on a player for at least the next 5 years.

Could he go to barca? yes this is feasible but when you run articles regarding Real then try to do some research first. It simply isn’t gonna happen due to the fact that we all know that Levy wouldn’t accept anything like 50million for him.

I suspect we will reach a point where he signs an extension for us with a sign on bonus and maybe plays one more year. That still leaves him 5 years to pursue his dream of playing in nice weatehr with a world beating side

    • how do you come to this assumption given the fact that Real are broke and have a 600million Euro stadium problem?

Daniel Levy will not let him go on the cheap and we won’t be taking in 3 Real players on salaries currently exceeding 90% of the spurs squad. It won’t work in the dressing room.

As I mentioned above Barca are the only club in Spain that could afford him. Furthermore when you look at the league position of Real they aren’t what they have been over the last 10 years. Every now and againthe squad needs updating and I repeat THEY ARE ONLY BUYING YOUNG PROSPECTS NOT GALATICOS.

SO PLEASE IF YOU WILL MAKE STATEMENTS AS IF YOU ARE IN THE KNOW – THEN DO QUALIFY THEM RATHER THAN JUST SPIRTING THE RUBBISH THAT SPILLED OUT THE LAST TIME YOU HIT THE KEYBOARD.
